Brahim Díaz, the Argentine forward who joined AC Milan on loan from Atletico Madrid last summer, has been out injured for several weeks and is now reportedly facing a longer spell on the sidelines.
According to reports in Italy, Díaz suffered a cruciate ligament injury during training at the start of this month and will be sidelined for up to six months. The Argentine has already undergone surgery to repair the damage and is expected to make a full recovery, but his absence could prove costly for AC Milan, who are currently struggling to compete with Serie A leaders Inter Milan.
Díaz's injury comes at a time when AC Milan are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season. The club have already made some signings,Primeira Liga Hotspots including Brazilian defender Diego Llorente and Italian midfielder Marco Borriello, but they still need more reinforcements to improve their chances of winning the title.
Despite the setback, AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli remains optimistic that Díaz will recover fully and return to action as soon as possible. "We will work hard to bring him back," he said. "He is a very important player for us and we want him back as soon as possible."
In the meantime, AC Milan will hope to find other ways to replace Díaz's goals and contributions to the team. The club has already signed Italian striker Mario Mandzukic on a free transfer from Juventus, but they may also look to sign another forward in the coming weeks or months.
